Hello and welcome!
We are the Ruined Theatre bringing professional theatre in Abbey Wood & Thamesmead.
Along with our top-quality productions we work with the local residents in a number of programmes to bring communities together and offer first-hand involvement with the arts. This includes our outreach programme with local schools, mentorships and working with Peabody.
We are a non-profit organisation, we welcome any donations to help towards our productions and outreach work.
All donations will go towards wages for professional actors, creatives, community engagement programmes, costumes and set and bringing our brilliant productions to life.

With every production we do, alongside we offer Mentorship for local creatives.
This is an entirely free course an perfect for you if you're interested in the arts but not sure where to start, you will work alongside our creative team, learn new skills and be introduced first hand to the world of theatre. This is perfect for directors, stage management, costume and design, producing and other areas of the industry! We ask for 18+ to be on this course.

Working with Local Schools
We are always keen to involve local schools with our productions!
From watching rehearsals to designing our incredible theatre flags, if you're a school that would like to work with us or would like us to visit to do a workshop, we'd love to hear from you!
This flag was made by the brilliant students at St Thomas à Beckett Primary School as part of our Welcome Flag initiative, 14 schools took part in this and the flags were proudly displayed at every performance or Our Teacher's a Troll.
We'd always love to hear from locals who would like to work with us, especially for front of house work!

The team behind this summer's hit show Our Teacher's a Troll, now bring you the story of WITCHES - inspired by Roald Dahl's classic tale and adapted by The Ruined Theatre.

Sit in the ancient 800 year old walls of Lesnes Abbey Ruins and be captivated as the story of Witches is read aloud by amazing professional actors...

There isn't a more perfect way to get into the spirit of Halloween.
This is suitable for children of all ages, we encourage you to wrap up warm, bring a blanket and enjoy a hot chocolate with us in the Ruins!
WITCHES SPELL WORKSHOP!
Prior to the reading of Witches why not attend our Witches Spell Workshop?
Learn how to make your own magic Witches potions which you can take home, your own Halloween mouse and plenty of other Halloween fun to choose from including optional face painting (at a small additional cost)
Suitable for children of all ages. Materials provided, all participating children must have a ticket and be accompanied by adult.
Witches Spell Workshop- £6 3-4pm
@ Lesnes Abbey Lodge, £6 for all children. Adults free. All children must have a ticket to participate and an accompanying adult. Duration 1 hour.
Witches Story- £5 /£6 4-5pm
All Children tickets are £5, Adults tickets are £6 and babes in arms go free.
This performance will be outside in the Lesnes Abbey Ruins where seating within the Abbey will be available, please bring a blanket with you for warmth. If it is raining the reading will be moved to inside to the Lesnes Abbey Lodge.

WITCHES SPELL WORKSHOP & WITCHES STORY- £10
Book for both the Witches Spell workshops and the WITCHES performed reading for £10!

DARK STORIES BY THE FIRE @ THE ABBEY ARMS- ADULTS ONLY!
We wanted to bring together the adult theatre lovers of South East London for this one.. So pull up a chair, grab a blanket and settle in for an evening of dark tales by a flickering fire at the Abbey Arms this Halloween. An evening of dark contemporary stories told by professional actors...There isn't a more perfect way to get into the spirit of Halloween.
"Dark. Where am I? I must have been somewhere before I was here... but hang on...where is here..?"
This explosive night of story telling will be held around the fire in the garden at the Abbey Arms which is covered and is suitable for adults only, the variety of tales will have you laughing one second to looking over your shoulder the next!
Please not this isn't an evening of horror , but instead an evening of dark situations told with comedy, intensity and electric performances!
We encourage to bring a blanket, grab a drink and pizza and enjoy some dark entertainment with us by the fire!

This performance will be in the covered garden at the Abbey Arms, where seating will be provided. Ticket holders are welcome to purchase food and drink from the bar for the performance which will be offering discounts for a ticket holders.

Nancy has lived in Abbey Wood for 10 years and it has been a long-awaited vision to bring to life this ruined abbey with theatre!
Nancy is an advocate in making arts accessible to everyone and is keen to place a strong emphasis on this through The Ruined Theatre C.I.C
