NANCY SULLIVAN
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
& CO FOUNDER
Artistic Director of The Ruined Theatre and loyal resident of 15 years to Abbey Wood, Nancy Sullivan was inspired to bring something new culturally to the area after feeling the lack of investment in art and culture in Abbey Wood and Thamesmead.
The vision -To re purpose the 12th century ruins of Lesnes Abbey to create an open air theatre whilst keeping it affordable and inclusive to its residents and audiences.
All of our shows are created by top professionals using puppet makers, designers, directors and experienced and newly trained actors.
We offer a varied programme of work throughout the year covering musicals, plays, family shows and concerts all of which have early career mentorships, local creatives and paid opportunities for young people at the core of what we do.
A working class actress and mum, Nancy has been passionate to bring opportunities to the community of Abbey Wood alongside productions, making local professional theatre accessible to everyone, from the making of the show to the audience.
Nancy has been a professional actress for over 20 years, she is currently playing leading regular role of Christine Carr in ITV's hit sitcom Changing Ends.
Other experience includes, TV; The Hack (ITV), Call The Midwife (BBC), Afterlife (Netflix), The Blitz (Apple TV). Theatre; Les Miserable (West End), My Fair Lady (Naples, San Carlo), Fabric (Soho Theatre & Edinburgh) winner of Fringe First & The Stage Award, Beggars Opera (Story House), Little Voice (Leeds Playhouse), Fastest Clock In The Universe (Old Red Lion), Good Person of Sichuan (Colchester Mercury).
Directing credits for Ruined Theatre; Our Teachers A Troll, Hansel & Gretel, Ali & Wonderland, The Goblin of Lesnes and Little Faith.

Tamryn is a trained actress originally from Australia and has been involved with The Ruined from the very beginning of it's conception in 2020. After working with Tamryn as an actress and creative, Nancy asked Tammy to be part of original founding team due to her passion, core values, talent, knowledge and exceptional attention to detail. As well as produce the shows for The Ruined Theatre, Tamryn works closely with partner organisations such a Peabody, Bexley Libraries and schools to ensure The Ruined Theatre is as wide spread as possible.
Tamryn has also produced shows outside the Ruined Theatre including for the infamous Vaults Festival.
